For your consideration: "Kooks" by David Bowie. Admittedly it's not about kids growing up and flying the nest, but it IS about parenting and kids growing up, and I find it quite charming. :)

You always have been, and always will be a stellar mom. You were even a great mom when you were stepping into the stepmom role and dealing with two kids (my teenage sons) who were your step children. They quickly loved you because they knew that immediately they mattered to you and still do. And this one--the next one leaving the nest--has had the benefit or your love and energy and care from the word go. I think there's no ceiling on how much he loves you because there's no ceiling on how much you love him. Never doubt that you've done a great job, just as you should never doubt that he loves you. And so do I.
